Synopsis
Going Solo - a Trilogy of One-Act Plays: Moving On, Moving Away and Moving Aside by Austin Hawkins with acknowledgements to Jefry G Pirie Our Summer Slot is an opportunity to try something a little different and this year we are putting on GOING SOLO by Austin Hawkins. This is a trilogy of "almost monologues" in other words apart from the three main characters any others are "walk-ons" or only have a couple of lines. Austin is a playwright who Ann met up with during last year's AETF festival. The first of the monologues "Moving On" was runner up for best original script at the Somerset County Drama Festival, the second "Moving Aside" has been produced for a digital film making group First Eye Productions and the third "Moving Away" is hot from his computer. Monologues are obviously an enormous challenge to both actor and director and it's brilliant that two new members are amongst those taking on the challenge.
