Marc Camoletti

Marc Camoletti is probably best known to British audiences for his smash-hit play Boeing Boeing, which ran for seven years at the Apollo theatre in London. It was filmed under the same title by Paramount, starring Jerry Lewis, Tony Curtis and Thelma Ritter.
In a career spanning over thirty years, Marc Camoletti has gained worldwide acclaim through productions of his plays such as La Bonne Anna, Pauvre Edouard, L´Amour Propre, Duos son Canapé, Happy Birthday, Le Bluffeur, La Chambre dÁmi...

In Paris alone he calculates that 240 actors have appeared in fifteen of his plays in eleven different theatres over 32 years, totalling to date 15,000 performances. The global figures would probably warrant an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. Don´t Dress for Dinner (Happy Birthday) was premiered in Paris at the Theatre Michel in 1985 where it ran for over two years and reached 650 performances. With the subsequent French touring production it is now coming up to it is 1,000th performance.
